Technical Assistance (TA)

The Gender Equity Unit provides free technical assistance and knowledge-building capacity with Data for Health partners to support the integration of a gender equity lens into your work. Our team has significant expertise in gender, public health, data collection and analysis, and program implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

We are dedicated to building your team’s knowledge and capacity through active mentoring when collaborating on a TA project. All work produced remains in your domain and ownership. Our goal is simply to boost your efforts to achieve transformative gender equity and inclusion in data collection, analysis and impact.

Here are some examples of recent TA collaborations:

  • Together with technical advisors, reviewing existing curricula and providing input on integrating a gender lens into training modules.
  • Together with an in-country team, working on a systematic review exploring gender equity in birth and death certification/registration. (NOTE: This was done virtually, AND, with advance planning, we can travel to you as well.)
  • Support the application of gender equity frameworks in program and policy design and implementation
  • Increase knowledge and implementation of gender measures in data collection activities
  • Build capacity in gender-based analysis of CRVS and household datasets
  • Assist with analysis of multiple datasets, such as death registrations and verbal autopsies and stillbirth registrations, with a gender lens
  • Increase expertise in the translation of data including establishing gender-inclusive dissemination processes
  • Promote and facilitate partnership communication and coordination around gender integration
