Astha Ramaiya, DrPH Assistant Scientist


Astha Ramaiya is an assistant scientist from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has worked in the United States, Canada, Tanzania, and Nepal, focusing on adolescent health, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS. Her interests include empowerment, violence and interactive survey methodologies to increase engagement. Astha pursued her DrPH in Community Health and Prevention from Drexel University. Astha’s dissertation assessed the effectiveness of a communication program on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management among adolescent girls in India. She has a MSc in Public Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a BSc in Health Studies from University of Waterloo.
