The Data for Health Gender Data Analysis workshop will be held at the new Hyatt Regency Westlands in Nairobi, Kenya. Kenya has replaced its eVisa system with an Electronic Travel Authorization system (eTA), which is now operational. Apart from holders of valid Kenya Passports, holders of Kenya Permanent Residence, valid Work Permits and Passes and Citizens of the East African Partner States, all visitors including infants and children who intend to travel to the Republic of Kenya, must apply and pay for the eTA at least 3 days prior to travel to ensure adequate time for authorization. eTA applications can be done via www.etakenya.go.ke and pay a processing fee of USD $34. Traveler passport copy must be valid for 6 Months prior to the date of arrival Kenya and with at least two blank pages.

Lunch, snacks and water will be provided all three days of the workshop. A welcome dinner (set menu) will be held at the Botanica restaurant, 7th floor, One Africa Place, Waiyaki Way, Nairobi, on Tuesday, September 26th.
The currency is the Kenyan Shilling (KES). It is a closed currency, so you won’t be able to order any before you go. However, cards are widely accepted and ATMs are widely available. There are coins of one, five, ten and 20 KES and notes of ten, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 KES. Dollar bills issued before the year 2000 are not accepted.
Participants are responsible for obtaining related medical clearances and required immunizations prior to travel. All travelers arriving into the country through any point of entry shall no longer be required to show proof of either COVID-19 vaccination or a pre-departure COVID-19 test. Depending on the Country that you are travelling from a Yellow Fever Vaccination is required for entering Kenya and should be dated at least 10 Days before the Date of Arrival. For participants coming from the US, Europe or UK, no Yellow Fever Vaccination is needed. However, they may require this on departure from Kenya depending on the transit country / country they are returning to. If you are connecting through other East African countries the Yellow Fever Vaccination is Mandatory.
Temperatures range from 26 degrees Celsius/80 degrees F during daytime hours to 10 degrees Celsius/50 degrees F at night. Showers are expected in the afternoons.
